Increased Speed of Execution
One of Ergonomy’s clients is a leading IT vendor and a high volume manufacturer of PCs. In late 2003, it was planning the launch of a new service, bundling notebook computers with wireless hardware, software & services. The package would be attractive to mobile workforces and many small & medium-sized enterprises, but it was complicated for our client to integrate from a number of perspectives. For competitive reasons, the timescales were also tight, and the launch budget was limited. Close involvement from a number of other companies added complexity to the project.

On top of its existing workload, the extra demands of managing the launch of this service left our client’s marketing team over-stretched. Their marketing director therefore called in Ergonomy to help.

As a result, Steve Taylor from Ergonomy led the management of the project, and the product was launched on time and on budget at the end of January 2004, to very favourable press coverage.

Of Ergonomy’s contribution, our client’s marketing director noted that without Steve’s efforts, the service could never have been launched on the aggressive timescale set. Steve’s authority within the business also enabled him to drive through actions and changes which were essential to keep the project moving forward. Finally, he managed the budget with a rigour that Finance, in particular, appreciated.
